Amanda Merdzan is an Australian singer/songwriter and producer based in London.
Amanda Merdzan began playing solo in 2008 and has since performed at festivals such as The Western Australian Music Industry Festival, Canadian Music Week and The Wave Rock Weekender. Along the way Merdzan has shared the stage with, and supported artists such as The Tallest Man On Earth, Emma Louise, The Falls and Eskimo Joe.
Her debut five track EP ‘The Map Has Been Redrawn’ was released in March 2013 with the single ‘Afraid’ receiving reviews from multiple Triple J presenters and national airplay on the station.
After touring and performing extensively over the last few years across Australia, the US, Canada and Europe, Merdzan began writing for her next record pushing her creativity in all directions.
The first single 'Matter', from the upcoming EP differs from her previously folk influenced writing and has been quoted as being an “electro-pop song that is stunning and gorgeous... much along the lines of Banks’ early works”. ‘Matter’ has also received national airplay on Australian radio and multiple reviews online.
Merdzan’s upcoming EP is due for release mid 2016 and continues in the style of the single, reflecting the diversity of her songwriting.
